There seems to be something about crocheting and making slippers. One of the first things most people ask me when they learn I crochet is do you make slippers and everyone seems to have a story about slippers that were made for them.
In all honesty slippers have always interested me but I have always been hesitant to make them. They felt like something I needed to work up too and in some weird way I never really felt like I had gotten to that point yet in my crocheting.
Funny how everything can change in one text. I get a text from my Mom saying she told a girl she works with that I can make her sneaker slippers if she got me a photo of what she wanted. Um, yeah, okay, I hope can do this is what went through my mind. Nothing like a little pressure, not only am I making something I have never made but I do not even know what she has in mind. Yep no pressure at all.
I was able to find the pattern and reading the pattern it did not make sense to me but I did not let that bother me. This is not the first time I have read a pattern and went this won't work but when I actually worked the pattern it was fine. In this case the pattern did not work and for this reason I am not sharing the pattern.
After a ton of frustration and a ton of time researching patterns I was able to make modifications and made this patterns work but I will admit I did want to give up. This is why I dislike other people committing me to things before I have time to research it myself. But she has purchased the supplies and although I did not say I could do it, Mom did so I felt I could not fail and I had to make this work.
In the end they did work out, she loved them so I am happy.
