I think I may have gotten myself in over my head this time. Don't get me wrong I am a girl that tackles things head on and very rarely do I say I cannot do something, that is just me, I always feel I can do or fix anything and everything. This time maybe just maybe I should stuck with "No, I cannot do it."
My Mom found a Sheep Pillow photo online and asked me if I could make it, before I had a chance to look at the pattern she showed it to a girl at work who fell in love with the pillows and wanted to order 2, maybe 3. I looked at the pattern and there turned out to be one HUGE problem, the pattern says Crochet Sheep Pillow but it is actually a knitting pattern. My knitting skills are dish clothes and even then if I can talk someone into crochet I do. Needless to say somehow I was talked into seeing if I could crochet these pillows.
In the back of my mind I have thought about trying to write my own crochet patterns as I seem to come across a lot of photos where there is no pattern or due to how low our Canadian dollar is right now buying patterns in US funds can make your heart skip a beat or two. But I have never actually written a crochet pattern and now my first venture into pattern writing is not a simple pattern, what do I get myself into??????
I understood the basics behind what I needed to do to make the pillow but I will admit my first attempt went horribly wrong. After spending about 2 days working on the pillow I realized it was not going to come together and my only option would be to pull it apart and start over. Luckily my second attempt went much better, and I am happy to say I have written my first pattern. Below is my "Well fed Sheep Pillow"
