I have to admit lately my life is insanity, I am all over the place for work and I am worn out. I have not been finding very much me time which is when I do my crocheting. I got home from an out of town trip and I was seriously craving some crochet time so I decided one Saturday morning I was going to spend all day crocheting. Only "issue" was I did not have a project to work on. I went on the internet and quickly found this bag which called to me saying "make me."
The pattern for this bag can be found Here. I have to admit it took some work to follow this pattern, the actual crochet part was not difficult but the sewing part is a little hard to follow. I do wish there was more or clearer instruction, but I was able to work though it and complete the bag.
The one thing I will say is I expected this bag to be a lot bigger then what it turned out to be. In he photo on the pattern it looks like what I would consider a normal size bag but I quickly realized this was going to be a smaller size bag. With that being said I have a rule even when I am not sure I will be happy with a pattern once I am finished I always complete the pattern as written once. Then after I complete it once I can make more and change the pattern to better suit what I am looking for from the pattern.
Even though I did expect the bag to be bigger I did really enjoy this pattern, well the crochet part of it. It is a very cute little bag although I do find the straps a little bulky for the size of the bag. I look forward to modifying this bag in the future to make a larger version which I think will work better with the straps.
I do think this would be a very cute child's bag. There is something about this yarn that screams Easter to me so I could see a child carrying this bag well wearing an Easter Dress. This bag takes me back to my Childhood when my Step Mom would buy us our Easter Dresses that included a hat and this would have been a cute bag to carry to Church with me which was really what the dress was for.
Now I am sitting here wondering how many Easter Eggs would fit in this bag. Totally something I would have done as a Child. I would have been told to put my Offering for Church in the bag but I probably would have included a few Easter Treats to make sure none of my siblings tried to steal them.
All and all I am happy with this bag and I look forward to making a few changes to the pattern to make it a larger bag which would work better for me. Since I am always travelling and on the road I carry a lot with me and have come to appreciate a larger bag to fit all of my stuff into.
