I do not make Dish Clothes or Wash Clothes very often, usually only upon request from someone. I know people love Crochet Dish Clothes but I rarely get requests for them and at one point I had them coming out my ears as I made a ton when learning to crochet. So these days I rarely make one until today.
When I do not have a project in mind I go on the internet and wait for a project to call out to me saying "make me." I know it sounds weird but it happens to me all the time, I will look through page after page of patterns until one says "make me," I then check what is required and a take a quick peak at the pattern and if everything lines up I have my project to work on. This was one of those projects, the pattern can be found Here.
I liked this pattern because it was different from other patterns I have seen for Wash Clothes. I also liked the fact that it was going to challenge me to learn a new stitch, I had never even heard of the Berry Stitch before seeing this pattern. I enjoy the challenge of learning a new stitch and expanding my crochet knowledge so when this stitch comes up again I will be able to complete the stitch with no issues.
Once I got into this pattern and got into the rhythm of the pattern it was quite easy to work up and worked up quite quickly. I did add a boarder to the Wash Cloth, I have noticed most patterns do not have a boarder but I prefer the way it finishes off the Wash Cloth. It gives the Wash Cloth a cleaner look. I also worry about the edges getting caught and pulling the Wash Cloth apart, this will prevent this from happening.
